Academic All-Star – Kinsley Davis, Clovercroft Elementary

The Academic All-Star award is given to students who exhibit a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence in the classroom. Each Academic All-Star is chosen by his or her principal and receives a framed certificate, free food from Sonic Drive-In and other gifts from the district.

Fifth grader Kinsley Davis has been named Clovercroft Elementary’s Academic All-Star for the 2017-18 school year.

“Kinsley is a responsible student who can always be trusted to do the right thing,” said Kinsley’s teachers. “She gives her best effort in everything she does. Most importantly, she is humble in nature and kind to everyone she meets. We are proud to recognize her as our Academic All-Star.”

Having attended Clovercroft since kindergarten, Kinsley says it’s a special place full of caring teachers and staff.

“It’s a great school,” said Kinsley. “All the teachers here really support the students. They motivate me.”

Although math is her favorite subject, Kinsley says she loves to explore her creative side at home.

“I really like to do crafts, and I like to cook,” she said. “I also like to put things together.”

As a member of the student council, Kinsley enjoys working with her fellow students to make Clovercroft the best it can be.

“We just help the school,” said Kinsely. “We’ll write cards for the teachers. Last year, we did a project where we put down mulch in front of the school.”

Those who know her best say it’s no surprise that Kinsley won this award, but Kinsley herself isn’t so sure.

“I’m really surprised,” said Kinsley. “But it makes me feel really happy and proud of myself.”
