Academic All-Star – Drew Kircher, Page High

The Academic All-Star award is given to students who exhibit a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence in the classroom. Each Academic All-Star is chosen by his or her principal and receives a framed certificate, free food from Sonic Drive-In and other gifts from the district.

Eighteen-year-old Drew Kircher is building a solid foundation for his future at Page High School.

Administrators say Drew is a perfect choice for this year’s Academic All-Star award.

“Drew is a hard-working, dedicated student,” said Page High Principal Dr. Shane Pantall. “He has a diverse set of talents and is already pursing his passion and plans for the future through a prestigious internship. We are all very proud of Drew and his success and contribution to the Page High community.”

Drew and his family moved to Williamson County before his junior year. Despite not knowing anyone at the school, Drew says the transition to Page High went very well.

“I’ve built some really good relationships in a surprisingly short time,” said Drew. “I played football my junior year so I made a lot of friends that way. I’ve also enjoyed a lot of academic opportunities. Page is a lot different from my last school. I’ve been challenged more here. I think it has prepared me more for college.”

Speaking of college, Drew plans to attend Harding University in Arkansas next year where he hopes to earn a degree in business.

“I do work-based learning here at Page so I leave after sixth period each day to work at a woodshop in Murfreesboro,” said Drew. “I build cabinets and furniture and stuff like that. I would like to start a construction business one day and build houses.”

Even in his free time, Drew can be found building furniture when he’s not playing sports or hunting and fishing with friends. It’s a passion that will continue to motivate Drew as he continues his education.

“I’m confident I could go find a job right now, but I want to have the life that I want and be able to make a difference,” said Drew. “A college education will put me in a good position in the future. I don’t know what I want to be for sure, but an education will give me options.”
