WCS Students Advance to State Speech Competition

Several Williamson County Schools high school students are moving on to the Tennessee High School Speech and Drama League state competition after strong showings at last weekend’s district tournament.

The THSSDL District III tournament took place at Father Ryan High School in Nashville on March 10 and at Blackman High School in Murfreesboro on March 11 and more than 40 WCS students advanced to the state tournament.

District III includes schools from Williamson, Davidson, Rutherford and Putnam counties.

To qualify for the state competition, students needed to finish in the top four spots in their competitions.

Congratulations to the following students who will be traveling to Memphis for the state competition at Arlington High School on April 28 and at Lausanne Collegiate School on April 29.
