WCS Rezoning Plan Update

Published April 13, 2017

Discussions regarding rezoning for the 2018-19 school year continue.

A “Plan B” proposal was presented to the School Board at its April 13 work session. This plan takes into consideration the lack of funding for school additions and expansions if no action is taken by the County Commission at its May 8 meeting.

“The School Board is hopeful Plan A will be funded on schedule,” said Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney. “If not, the district has an alternate plan which incorporates additional rezoning to Plan A.”

As illustrated in the slide below, Plan B includes all of Plan A plus an additional 839 students who would be rezoned.
