Student-Athletes Walk the Red Carpet at the 2017 WILLCO Awards
Published May 24, 2017
The Factory at Franklin was the place to be on May 23 as the third annual WILLCO Awards celebrated the achievements of Williamson County Schools athletes.
“This is where the best athletes in WILLCO and the best teams in general come together and are awarded for their good seasons,” said Brentwood High School volleyball player Garrett Joiner.
Complete with announcers, a backdrop and paparazzi, student-athletes dressed to the nines walked down the red carpet at this award show modeled after the ESPYS. Former University of Tennessee football coach Phil Fulmar even joined the student-athletes and was the keynote speaker of the night.
Awards were given in more than three dozen categories, including male and female athletes of the year and the prestigious Director’s Cup, which was presented to the schools accumulating the most points athletically across the WCS Sports Conference in Division I and II.
