What is WCS’s approach to the transgender bathroom issue especially in light of Trump’s new repeal of Obama’s rules regarding this issue?
Williamson County Schools has a rich tradition of supporting our students’ diverse needs in a safe and nurturing manner. Our district has established non-discriminatory processes which allow all students to preserve their privacy and dignity while maintaining a safe, distraction-free learning environment. Our district handles these matters on a case-by-case basis, and to date has been able to accommodate the needs of all our students without complaint. What we are doing is working, and we have no plans to change.
When will the zoning for the new elementary and middle schools on Clayton Arnold Road be announced?
The District will present a zoning plan to the School Board at the March 16 Work Session. The District plans to have community meetings in April with the Board voting on the plan in May. All rezoning is effective for the 2018-19 school year.
