Renaissance Shines at Entrepreneurship Fair

Published December 1, 2016

Renaissance High School is known for thinking outside the box. That may be one of the reasons for the school’s success at the MTSU 2016 High School Entrepreneurship Fair on November 16.

Renaissance entered eight teams in the competition and three of those teams took home an award.

Teams were tasked with formulating a business plan that included opportunities, marketing plans and products and services. They also had to interview with the judges and give booth presentations.

Renaissance students EJ Avery, Maura Stein, Mayci Yates and Erika Drugeot won the Arts Enterprise Award for their company called Petzzz which produces custom pet beds.

Mason Stubblefield, Connor Morton and Zach Woodward won the Engineering Enterprise Award for their company called USBe-All which produces a multi-purpose dongle that is easy to use for any and all technology users.

Renaissance students Maura Stein, Alexis Albers, Mackenzie Randall and Alex Breedlove won the Social Enterprise Award. They created a business called Furry Friends Café & Sanctuary. Their idea was to create a warm adoption environment in the form of a café for animal lovers to come and adopt animals that have been saved from different pounds.

The MTSU High School Entrepreneurship Fair was developed last year with the purpose of getting students to think about entrepreneurship before they enter college.
