Message from Superintendent Looney

Published December 21, 2016

Dear Parents, Students and Staff,

As we begin this holiday season, I want to wish you a safe, restful and peaceful few weeks. The past semester has been filled with ups and downs for me as your superintendent. We have celebrated major accomplishments like the 24.7 on the ACT. We have watched our athletes and athletic teams earn state and national recognition. We have listened to beautiful music performed by our orchestras and choirs.

However, my heart is still heavy knowing that we have recently lost three students from our rolls as well as one former student, all in vehicle accidents. I pledge to continue working to educate our students on driving safely, and I will share more information during the new year. Until then, I challenge us all to be vigilant when behind the wheel: let’s make sure we wear our seat belts; let’s put down our phones when driving; and let’s watch our speed as we travel. Together we can make a difference.

Enjoy your holiday break, and come back refreshed in 2017!

Mike Looney
