Franklin High Band Receives Multiple Honors

The Franklin High School band is good, and they’re proving it with some stellar recognition.
The FHS Wind Ensemble was recently invited to be the induction ensemble for the Tennessee Bandmasters Hall of Fame in April.
“We are honored to be chosen as the Tennessee Bandmasters Hall of Fame Induction ensemble for 2017,” said FHS Band Director David Aydelott. “We are excited about the opportunity to showcase our students while performing a sophisticated and enjoyable program as Jeff Beckman, Director Emeritus at McGavock High School, is inducted into the Tennessee Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame.”
This is the second time that the FHS wind ensemble has been chosen for this honor; it also performed for this same event in 2012.
Not to be left out, the percussion ensemble earned a prestigious invitation to perform at the Sandy Feldstein National Percussion Festival during the 2017 Music For All National Festival in Indianapolis in March.
This is the second time since 2013 that the percussion ensemble has received this honor.
“It’s been an honor and a pleasure working with these excellent young musicians,” said Franklin High Ensemble Director Michael Holland. “I’m continually inspired as I watch them persevere with challenging pieces, develop their skills and build a deep camaraderie with each other. It is so rewarding to see their hard work result in being selected to perform at the Music For All National Festival.”
