FHS Band Performs at TBA Hall of Fame Concert

Published April 11, 2017

Opryland Hotel was filled with the sweet sounds of the Franklin High School wind ensemble April 7 as the group had the honor of performing at the Tennessee Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame Induction Concert at the Tennessee Music Education Association Conference.

To be chosen for this honor, FHS submitted videos of their performances last year. The musicians have been practicing their pieces since being selected in September.

The band is under the direction of David Aydelott, Jacob Campos and Michael Holland.

The event celebrated Bandmasters Hall of Fame inductee, Jeff Beckman. Beckman was the long-time band director at McGavock High School.

“Performing this concert was such an honor and having the opportunity to honor our dear friend Jeff Beckman made it all the more special,” Aydelott said. “I was proud to watch these talented, dedicated students represent their school and community so beautifully.”

Friday marked the second time the FHS ensemble performed at the Hall of Fame Concert after taking the stage for the first time in 2012.
