District Celebrates School Success at 2016 Superintendent’s Banquet

With the start of the 2016-17 school year just weeks away, WCS took time July 21 to reflect upon the many successes of its students and schools at the sixth annual Superintendent’s Banquet.

Principals and assistant principals from all 44 schools joined Central Office staff, parent leaders and School Board members for an evening of celebration at The Factory in Franklin.

Edmondson Elementary and Brentwood Middle won awards for having the highest attendance rate for students, while Hunters Bend Elementary and Grassland Middle were recognized for having the highest attendance rate for teachers.

At the high school level, Brentwood High won the most awards including Highest Participation in Advanced Placement, Most National Merit Scholars, Highest Attendance Rate for Teachers, Highest ACT Score and Highest ACT Percent Scoring 21 or Above. Franklin High won two awards for Highest Graduation Rate and Most State and National Recognition in the Arts, and Page High won the award for Highest Attendance Rate for Students.

The administrators were treated to a meal prepared by the district’s Food Service Department with support provided by Summit High Schools’ culinary arts students.

As always, no taxpayer dollars were used to pay for the event.
