Centennial Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Homecoming Week
Published September 22, 2016
It’s Homecoming Week at Centennial High School, and this year’s celebration is 20 years in the making.
The school, which first opened its doors in 1996, will host a number of events leading up to Friday’s football game versus West Creek, and CHS Principal Dr. Leigh Webb is hoping alumni will get involved.
Webb says the Cougars have invited former homecoming kings and queens to help them crown this year’s queen. They have also invited former choir members to join the current CHS choir in the singing of the National Anthem prior to kickoff of the homecoming game.
Former band members are encouraged to join the CHS band to either play or sit with the band and former football players, dance team members and cheerleaders are invited back to be recognized on the field during halftime.
Alumni members interested in singing with the choir should be at the alumni tent by 6 p.m. for rehearsal.
For other past Cougars who just want to sit back and enjoy the game with family and friends, CHS is offering discounted game tickets to alumni.
School tours will be offered from 6 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. for students, parents and alumni to walk the halls, see campus updates, and perhaps take a class photo with some former classmates.
Please check-in at the alumni tent Friday night (located by the baseball field entrance to the stadium) for alumni buttons (free), alumni window clings (free with any donation to CHS memorial garden), alumni t-shirts ($20) and other alumni information. Alumni tickets to the game will be $5 ($7 for non-alumni guests).
