Brentwood High junior Brodey Hasty has been named the best cross country runner in the state of Tennessee, again.

Hasty was recently announced as the Tennessee’s Gatorade Boys Cross County High School Player of the Year for the second straight year after an impressive 2016 campaign.

“I am honored to receive Tennessee Gatorade Runner of the Year for the second time,” Hasty said. “It is a great feeling. I am grateful to run with a third place nationally-ranked team as they challenge me to work harder and all of that hard work paid off.”

The standout team leader helped propel the Bruins to the Class AAA state title this season where he finished first and teammate Taylor Vroon finished second.

He also won his second straight individual title in 15:09.07, which set the new course record.
