Brentwood High Entrepreneurship Students Are Bound for Washington DC

After winning first place at the Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee, Brentwood High School’s Good Nashville company is heading to Washington D.C. to compete at the JA National Student Leadership Summit.

Five BHS students will join students from 15 other companies around the country from June 18-22. Emily Arnholt, Cody Mashburn, Luke Moreshi, Kianoosh Pazooki and Clay Cox will all compete to win several awards, including the JA Company of the Year, as well as get the opportunity to learn from some of the best.

“They represent the high caliber of students participating in this program who conceptualize, plan and run their own company, embracing the entrepreneurial spirit,” said Trent Klingensmith, the president of JA of Middle Tennessee. “We are excited to be sending students from Brentwood High School to the National JA Company Program Competition in Washington D.C.”

While at the competition, the students will present their companies to business leaders and members of Congress as well as to a panel of judges. They will also have a booth at the Entrepreneurship Expo on Capitol Hill.

At the end of the competition, the members of the first, second and third place winners of the Company of the Year Award will receive a scholarship award.

“This is a great opportunity,” said Klingensmith. “Students have the opportunity to present to high level executives and display their project at an event on The Hill for an experience they will always remember.”
