BHS Cafeteria Gets New Look

Published October 12, 2016

The Brentwood High School cafeteria has a new look for the 2016-17 school year.

The cafeteria and kitchen were remodeled over the summer, giving the area a festive appearance and a more efficient serving line.

“Last year, part of the line was a la carte, or grab and go, and the other part was the menu,” said BHS Cafeteria Manager Tisha Weaver. “Now it’s the same on both sides when the kids come in. Everybody loves it. They love the new set up.”

Weaver says she likes it because it allows for more interaction between the cafeteria staff and the students.

“Now when everybody comes in, they can see the kitchen and they can see if we’re preparing the food,” said Weaver. “It’s kind of like an open concept, I guess you could say, versus us feeling like we’re in a closet.”

The gem of the update, however, might be the upcoming coffee shop. Although it’s not yet finished, the results are sure to be enjoyed by everyone at BHS, faculty and students alike.

“The students are excited about that,” said Weaver. “It’ll be nice once it’s all said and done.”
