The Academic All-Star award is given to students who exhibit a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence in the classroom. Each Academic All-Star is chosen by his or her principal and receives a framed certificate, free food from Chick-fil-A and Sonic Drive-In and a free gift courtesy of Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More in Franklin.
Ten-year-old Jack Seay is the kind of student who comes to school each day with a positive attitude and ready to learn. No matter the challenge, teachers say Jack is always on task. That’s why they say he’s the perfect choice for this year’s Academic All-Star award.
“Jack is a joy to teach as he is very inquisitive during lessons and often contributes to the lesson with his vast background knowledge,” said Jack’s teachers. “He is an extremely polite young man who is eager to volunteer and help others.”
Jack has been a student at Longview since kindergarten and says he’s gotten to know the school and the teachers very well.
“It’s a great school,” said Jack. “All the teachers are nice. They are so responsible, and they help me learn.”
Jack’s favorite subject is history. Outside of school, he enjoys doing all of the normal things kids do.
“I like to go outside and play,” said Jack. “I ride my bike and play with my friends and stuff.”
Jack’s also a talented baseball player and says he’d like to play professionally one day. But if he doesn’t make it to the big leagues, he’d be happy being a firefighter so he could help others.
Teachers say it’s that sort of selflessness that makes Jack a leader at his school.
“Jack is a wonderful role model for his peers,” said his teachers. “He can always be caught doing the right thing.”
