2017 Scholastic Art Award Winners Announced

More than 100 Williamson County students are earning praise for their artistic talents.
The students are among those who received recognition at the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards regional competition. The annual contest is open to students in seventh through twelfth grades. Awards given by the competition include the American Vision Award, the Gold Key Award, the Silver Key Award and Honorable Mentions.
The American Vision Award is only given to five artistic works in the region, selected from all categories and grades. Jenna Lowe, an eleventh-grader at Brentwood High School, was chosen for this prestigious award for her piece “Diving Deeper.”
A ceremony honoring the hard work of the recipients was held at the Cheekwood Art Museum on February 4. The exhibition will remain at Cheekwood until March 5. Congratulations to the following WCS students:
