2017 National Merit Commended Students Announced

A record number of WCS students are being recognized for exceptional academic promise by the National Merit Scholarship Program.
At least 69 WCS seniors were named National Merit Commended Students. These students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million entrants in the National Merit Program. They entered the competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Although Commended Students do not continue in the competition for National Merit scholarships, some of these students do become candidates for special scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses. Congratulations to the following students:
