Woodland Middle Computer Technology and Media Applications Teacher Mike Morrow is the 2016 Tennessee Business Education Association’s (TBEA) Secondary Teacher of the Year.
Morrow was nominated by one of his peers within the TBEA and then selected by the TBEA Awards Committee, which is made up of TBEA board members.
“The TBEA Middle/Secondary Teacher of the Year Award is a special honor to me because it is a recognition by my business education and technology peers throughout the state of Tennessee,” said Morrow. “Overall, this is my 27th year teaching, and it is always rewarding to be acknowledged by one’s peers.”
Morrow says he would not have won this award were it not for the incredible students and staff at Woodland.
“I believe this award recognizes and validates the importance of the computer technology program here at Woodland Middle,” said Morrow. “Woodland’s administration has always supported the computer technology program and helped me to maintain its level of excellence throughout the 17 years I’ve taught here.”
Morrow will receive his award September 26 in Memphis at the annual TBEA conference.
