WCS Teachers Attend TN Arts Academy

Teachers are the students at the 2016 Tennessee Arts Academy. Twenty-seven WCS fine arts educators are among the approximately 325 teachers who are participating in this week’s event at Belmont University.

A program of the Tennessee Department of Education, the Academy is one of the nation’s premier programs for professional development in arts education. Nationally and internationally renowned instructors and artists come from across the United States to teach classes in music, theatre and visual art as well as special classes in arts leadership, administration and assessment. Performers and speakers at this week’s sessions included the Boston Brass, legendary bandleader Doc Severinsen and Broadway star Stephanie J. Block.
