WCS Delays State Testing

Published February 9, 2016

With TNReady testing set to begin on Wednesday, February 10, 2016, in Williamson County Schools, Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney has announced that testing will be delayed until further notice.

Looney made the announcement after the State experienced online testing difficulties on Monday. Because of those technical issues, the State has mandated that all districts take the pencil and paper version of the test instead of taking the test online.

“I appreciate the State Department of Education for recognizing that the online test administration had some flaws and for taking responsibility for the technical issues that hampered the administration of the online test,” said Looney. “I am so proud of the work of our dedicated teachers, and I know our incredible students will be ready to demonstrate their knowledge no matter what the testing method or when it’s administered.”

The testing window has been extended, and schools will be making adjustments to the testing schedule at each site as the schools and district receive more information from the State.

More information regarding the TNReady test administration in Williamson County Schools will be shared in future editions of InFocus.
