WCS Athletes Honored at 2016 WILLCO Awards

Published May 20, 2016

Williamson County Schools top athletes hit the red carpet May 19 for the Second Annual WILLCO Awards.

The black tie affair, which is modeled after the popular ESPYS, was held at the Franklin Theatre and simulcast at The Factory at Franklin. The event was emceed by Hope Hines and featured a special guest appearance by Tennessee Titans General Manager Jon Robinson.

Awards were given in more than two dozen categories, including male and female athletes of the year and the prestigious Director’s Cup, which was presented to the schools that accumulated the most points athletically across the WCS Sports Conference in Division I and II.

“This is such an exciting night for our students,” said WCS Athletic Director Jeremy Qualls. “It’s a great way for us to recognize our top athletes. Like last year, nominations were given by the athletic directors at each school, and then we took that list and whittled it down to three finalists.”
