WCS Announces Edmondson Principal

Edmondson Elementary Assistant Principal Trent Satterfield has been named principal of the school. He will replace Julie Sparrow who was recently named principal of Mill Creek Elementary.

“Trent’s knowledge of the Edmondson school community made him a perfect selection as the leader of the school,” said Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney. “The teachers know his leadership style and expectations, and he has great relationships with the parents and students. He is invested in Edmondson.”

Satterfield has worked in Williamson County Schools for the past 13 years. He taught fourth grade at Winstead Elementary for three years; he taught sixth and seventh grade math at Page Middle School for four years; and he has served as the assistant principal of Edmondson for the past six years.

“I am honored and excited to accept the principal role at Edmondson Elementary,” said Satterfield. “Having served the Edmondson community as assistant principal over the past six years, I fully understand the high level of expectation our community has for our school. I am truly appreciative for the opportunity to lead such a dynamic faculty and staff. Their commitment to excellence is unwavering, and I will continue to work diligently for the students, families and staff of Edmondson Elementary.”

Satterfield earned both his Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and Master’s in Education from the University of Tennessee. He earned his Administrative Licensure in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University.

He will begin his new role January 1, 2016.
