Walk Across Williamson Winners Announced

Published April 13, 2016

It pays to be healthy – literally! On April 9, 11 Williamson County schools were awarded mini-grants for their participation in the annual Walk Across Williamson Challenge.

The countywide contest is designed to promote physical activity among Williamson County students and residents. Grants were given to schools based on the percentage of student participation. These grants will go to support each school’s health plan goals.

In addition, Franklin High School will receive a $350 mini-grant for earning the title of Most Improved School. Students at FHS logged more than one million activity minutes which is a substantial increase from last year.

Trophies were also handed out this year to the elementary, middle and high schools that logged the most activity minutes for students, staff and parent participants. Those winners are:

  • Elementary Champion: Lipscomb Elementary
  • Middle Champion: Brentwood Middle
  • High School Champion: Franklin High
