Two Football State Champions Crowned from WCS

For the first time in the history of the district, two football teams have won state championships.

The Independence Eagles competed in Class 5A, defeating the Sevier County Smoky Bears by a score of 49-14. The Eagles finish their season undefeated with a record of 15-0. The video below was produced by Zach Fulkerson in the IHS media department.

The Ravenwood Raptors competed in Class 6A in a rematch of last year’s championship game. They beat the undefeated Maryville Rebels by a score of 28-17. The video below was produced by students in the RHS media department.
