Students Participate in Summer Graduation

Published July 31, 2015

The first ever WCS Summer Graduation saw 14 high school seniors walk across the stage and receive their diplomas on Monday, July 27.

“It’s special anytime we have the opportunity to celebrate our students,” Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools Dr. Charles Farmer said. “Our first-ever summer graduation was especially poignant as we were able to recognize students who finalized this part of their journey in life.”

Per Board Policy 4.605, qualification for and participation in graduation or commencement ceremonies shall be limited to seniors who have satisfactorily completed the requirements for a diploma. This was the first year that students who completed requirements in the summer were given the opportunity to participate in a district-wide summer graduation ceremony.
