Student Named Outstanding JROTC Cadet of the Year

A Franklin High School student is being recognized by the Tennessee Society of the Sons of the American Revolution as their Outstanding JROTC Cadet of the Year.

Allison Segard was presented with the award April 1 at a convention in Johnson City. She entered and won the local chapter contest by submitting an essay titled How JROTC has Prepared Me to be a Better Citizen. Allison was presented with a $100 check at the chapter level. The state society presented her with a check for $1,000.

Allison’s essay now goes to the national competition.
