State Testing Update
Published April 29, 2016
Due to repeated delays and continued uncertainty regarding the administration of the State assessments, TNReady and TCAP, the State Department of Education has suspended the administration of the assessments in the elementary and middle schools.
That means students in grades three through eight in Williamson County Schools will not take Part II of the TNReady assessment which was scheduled to begin April 28.
As of right now, all State End of Course testing at the high school level has also been suspended. High schools will operate on a regular schedule unless instructed otherwise. In the meantime, Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney says communications will continue with the Tennessee Department of Education.
“As always, I want to do what is in the best interest of our students and schools,” said Looney. “I am in conversations with TDOE Commissioner Dr. Candice McQueen and have clearly articulated my concerns about this year’s assessment process. When I have exhausted my efforts, additional information will be provided.”
