Bethesda Elementary

Bethesda Elementary School had a very interesting visitor recently. Mike Studer is an apiarist for the State of Tennessee. Studer is an expert on bees. He has an amazing knowledge about bees and how their hard work is imperative to our planet. The word apiarist comes from the Latin word apis, which means bee. An apiraist is a aperson who is a keeper of bees. Ms. Jodi johnson, a fourth grade teacher at Bethesda, invited Studer to talk to her class about keeping the honey bees healthy. He talked with the children about the bees and the many concerns for their safety. To be such a small insect, the honey bee makes a large impact on the life of our planet. The honey bee is one of nature’s hardest workers in the insect world.

We’d like to thank Jay Galbreath and Sarah Wilson for all their work in planning the celebration and making the day great. Thanks to everyone that came to be a part of Crockett’s Silver Anniversary!
