Referee Background Checks Underway

Game officials who want to referee for Williamson County Schools have until October 9 to undergo a criminal background check if they wish to be reimbursed by the district.

WCS and the Franklin Special School District made the decision last month after it was discovered that the TSSAA had not been conducting fingerprint background checks on game officials.

As of October 2, approximately 100 individuals had been fingerprinted or were scheduled to be fingerprinted, however the district has learned that some of these individuals will not qualify as a referee based on their background check.

WCS recommends that game officials schedule their fingerprinting appointment immediately. Background checks submitted after October 9, 2015, will not be reimbursable by the district. CLICK HERE for detailed information about scheduling and completing a fingerprint background check.
