Edmondson Elementary Principal Julie Sparrow has been named Principal of Mill Creek Elementary. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney made the announcement October 14.
“Julie has been a member of the Nolensville community for over a decade,” said Looney. “She is also a proven education leader, so that combination made her a perfect fit to open Mill Creek.”
Sparrow began her teaching career in 1998 at Scales Elementary. She served as assistant principal at Edmondson and Lipscomb elementary schools for five years before being named principal at Edmondson in 2008.
“I am genuinely honored and humbled to accept the principal position at Mill Creek Elementary School. The opening of this school has been anxiously anticipated, and I embrace the opportunity to serve the Nolensville community that I love,” said Sparrow. “I am confident that we will assemble a team of faculty and staff that will work with me to establish a firm foundation of excellence upon which we will build for years to come. While leaving Edmondson is quite difficult, I take with me a glimpse of what a great school that serves kids well looks like, and I am grateful for the time and experiences I have had there.”
Sparrow holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s in Administration from Middle Tennessee State University. She has been a member of the Nolensville community since 2003.
She will begin her new role on January 1, 2016.
