Williamson County Schools Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney is earning recognition for his support of music education.
On April 14, the Tennessee Music Educators Association (TMEA) presented Looney with the 2015-16 Outstanding Administrator of the Year Award. The presentation took place during the annual TMEA Conference in Nashville.
“This award is a testament to our wonderful music teachers here in Williamson County,” said Looney. “I am a strong believer in the value of music education, and I am thankful for the School Board’s leadership in making the fine arts a part of our district’s Strategic Plan.”
Looney is the second WCS administrator to receive the award in the last two years. Woodland Middle School Principal Priscilla Fizer was given the award in 2015.
