Join Code Road Today

WCS teachers are assisting an exciting new program that’s aimed at getting female high school students interested in technology.

It’s called Code Road, and it is hosted by the Nashville Technology Council.

Each week, young women gather in Franklin for one hour to learn a new topic in technology and the education/career opportunities in that field. Each week’s lesson will be taught by an industry professional from partners around the world including BNY Mellon, UBS, Google, IBM and more. The class will run simultaneously in Memphis, Nashville, Ontario, and Nairobi through the NTC’s We Build Tech platform.

2015 Nashville Technology Council Educator of the Year Stacey Kizer is among the teachers involved in this effort. Code Road will be held each Saturday – now through April 23 – from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at The Coffee House, located at 142 Second Avenue North in Franklin.

There is no cost of attendance and refreshments are provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop if they have one. If not, laptops will be provided.

Each participant will receive an IBM Certificate in Information and Technology Awareness.
