Former Trinity Principal Returns to Lead Clovercroft

A former Williamson County Schools principal is returning to the district to lead Clovercroft Elementary. Elizabeth Vest, former Trinity Elementary principal, will begin at Clovercroft on May 4. Vest replaces Joan Tidwell who came out of retirement in December 2015 to serve as Interim Principal.

“Hiring Elizabeth is a win for Clovercroft and Williamson County Schools,” said Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney. “She knows the district, many of the staff members and even some of the families she will be serving. We are glad to have her back.”

Vest spent approximately 12 years with Williamson County Schools before she left the district to stay home with her children. She began her teaching career at Edmondson Elementary School. She then served as an assistant principal at Edmondson and Crockett elementary schools before serving as the principal of Trinity Elementary for almost five years. She spent another year working at the district office as a system-wide mentor.

“I am honored to be joining the Clovercroft community and to be returning to Williamson County Schools as a school leader,” said Vest. “I am quite familiar with the success Clovercroft has experienced and I look forward to supporting a strong school community where students come first. Since I will be starting before the end of the school year, I will have the opportunity to get to know the students, parents and staff before the summer break.”

Vest has been serving as an Adjunct Instructor and University Supervisor at the University of Tennessee at Martin for the past six years. She earned her Bachelor’s in Education from Vanderbilt University and her Master’s in Education Administration from Tennessee State University. She plans to complete a Doctorate in Assessment, Learning and School Improvement from Middle Tennessee State University this summer.
