FHS Student Shadows Jimmy Fallon

Published October 15, 2015

Sometimes dreams do come true. Just ask Franklin High School student Andrew Kochamba who was flown to New York City this week to shadow Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon for Senior Shadow Day.

It all started with a simple tweet in which Andrew asked Jimmy if he could shadow him. The message went viral, and in a matter of days Andrew’s initial tweet drew thousands of retweets. It was enough to get the attention of Tonight Show Producer Gavin Purcell who called Andrew October 12 to give him the good news.

The next day Andrew boarded a plane for the Big Apple and spent all day Wednesday at the Tonight Show studios where he toured the facility, met the crew and even interviewed Fallon on Periscope.

As the show came to an end, Fallon invited Andrew onstage where he was introduced to the crowd. Andrew says the whole experience was a dream come true.

“I have many stories to tell but to sum it up, the Tonight Show is a magical show,” said Andrew. “Everyone is so generous and authentic. I couldn’t be more thankful.”
