A Franklin High School student is being called a hero after she saved her father’s life.
On May, 14 at 3 a.m., Edith Grayson awoke to the sounds of her father having an asthma attack. By the time she got to him, he had collapsed and was not breathing. Edith called 9-1-1 and began C-P-R while talking to the operator.
Edith managed to revive her father before the ambulance arrived. He was hospitalized for two days at Williamson Medical Center but has since made a full recovery.
On May 16, Franklin High Assistant Principal Toby Ruth presented Edith with the JROTC Superior Cadet Award for her quick thinking, calm response and lifesaving actions.
