FHS Parent Association Donates Fully-Fed COW

Published April 14, 2016

Franklin High School students will now have greater access to technology thanks to the hard work and generosity of many in the Franklin High community.

The FHS Parent Association, which raised an incredible $30,000 through the Invest in Your Rebel campaign, decided to use a portion of the funds to purchase a fully-fed COW, or Computers on Wheels. A fully equipped COW includes 30 laptops and charging cables on a mobile cart which can easily be moved from one classroom to another.

Parent leaders say the money for the COW was raised in three ways: donations to the traditional direct mail fundraising effort, partnerships with Kroger and Publix, and online donations.

“We are so grateful for our parents who support the school through Invest in Your Rebel, as well as for the hundreds who volunteer their time and talents at the school,” said FHS Parent Association President Pam Walter. “Our parents pull out all stops to ensure that the kids and teachers at FHS get the educational support they need. We are blessed to be in a community where parents have the means and the motivation to equip our public high school well, especially at a time when so many schools across the country are suffering from lack of support.”
