If the class for your child is full or not offered, another class may be added if enough students of the same age express interest at your school. Please email Ruth Gutierrez before August 14 to make your request. All classes are subject to change. For the most accurate list of classes and to register, visit the EWLP registration page.
Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Can my child register even though he/she has not participated before?
Absolutely. Students may join the EWLP any semester. Both Chinese and Spanish classes will incorporate new material while continuously reviewing material from the fall classes. As you can imagine, repetition and practice are essential to learning a new language. New students can quickly catch up. Students will build confidence while learning important conversation skills within an exciting environment. EWLP teachers make class fun.
2. Will the fall and spring class be repeats of one another?
No, each semester of the EWLP introduces new content while constantly recycling material covered in prior semesters. The EWLP language class will enhance your child’s conversation skills by building on previous levels.
3. What if I don’t see a class for my child at his/her school?
We are always looking to add new classes where there is interest. If you don’t see a class for your child, please contact our EWLP Assistant Ruth Gutierrez to make your preference known. If we can get enough students, we are delighted to do our best to start a class at your school.
4. Does my child need to be enrolled in the SACC/YMCA-Fun Co. in order to participate in the EWLP?
Although the EWLP is run through the SACC program, your child does not have to be enrolled in any of the before/after school programs in order to participate in the EWLP.
