Brentwood High sophomore Brodey Hasty can add a new award to his growing list of accomplishments: 2015-16 Gatorade Tennessee Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year.
Hasty won the Division-I Class AAA individual Tennessee State Cross Country meet with a time of 15:35 and helped lead the Bruins to a state team title as well. He went on to win the Nike Cross National Southeast Championship with a time of 14:55.8 and placed seventh during the Nike Cross National Finals with a time of 15:15.5.
Hasty is the second Gatorade Tennessee Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year to be chosen from Brentwood High School. BHS alumnus Sean Keveren won the award in 2008.
The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the racecourse, distinguishes Hasty as Tennessee’s best high school boys cross country runner.
