Allendale Elementary and Independence High Principals Named

Two Williamson County Schools assistant principals will be leading at different schools during the 2016-17 school year. Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney announced the promotions May 31.

Pearre Creek Assistant Principal Dr. Cindy Davis has been named Principal of Allendale Elementary School. She replaces Dr. Melonye Lowe who was recently named the principal of Scales Elementary.

“Cindy has a vast amount of experience and knowledge that she will take to Allendale to help students continue to excel,” said Looney. “She is a dedicated and proven leader in our district.”

Davis has worked in Williamson County Schools for 16 years, teaching at Fairview Middle, Chapman’s Retreat Elementary and Longview Elementary. She has served as the assistant principal at Fairview Elementary, Westwood Elementary and Pinewood Elementary prior to Pearre Creek Elementary.

“It fills my heart with great joy to be chosen as the new principal at Allendale Elementary,” said Davis. “Being a Spring Hill resident, I am aware of Allendale’s reputation for excellence and look forward to working with the students, parents and staff. Although I have cherished my time as a Pearre Creek Elementary Panther, I am excited about my transformation to an Allendale Alligator.”

Davis holds a Bachelor’s in Education, a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction and an Educational Specialist’s Degree in Administration and Supervision, all from Middle Tennessee State University; and a Doctorate in Learning Organizations and Strategic Change from Lipscomb University.

At the high school level, Franklin High Assistant Principal Dr. Niki Patton has been named Principal of Independence High. She replaces Dr. Todd Campbell who resigned earlier this month.

“Niki has been integral to the success of Franklin High,” said Looney. “I know she will take her passion for student excellence and strong community to Independence to further that school’s success in academics, the arts and athletics.”

Patton has served as an assistant principal at Franklin since 2009. Prior to that time, she taught social studies for nine years at Blackman High in Rutherford County where she also coached girls basketball, cross country and track.

“I look forward to working collaboratively with the entire Indy Nation-students, faculty, staff, parents, and community members alike-to maintain the vibrancy and tradition of excellence in place. I want to build upon the excellent reputation that Independence has within the education community,” said Patton. “I’m ready to join the Indy Nation.”

Patton holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University; a Master’s in Education from Cumberland University; an Education Specialist’s in Administration and Supervision from Middle Tennessee State University; and a Doctorate in Learning Organizations and Strategic Change from Lipscomb University.
