The Academic All-Star award is given to students who exhibit a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence in the classroom. Each Academic All-Star is chosen by his or her principal and receives a framed certificate, coupons to Sonic Drive-In and a free gift courtesy of Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More in Franklin.

It’s not every day you meet a fifth grader who loves school as much as 11-year-old Bryson Boone. Teacher’s say Bryson’s incredible work ethic and enthusiastic attitude make him the perfect choice for the Trinity Elementary Academic All-Star award.

“Bryson is an Academic All-Star because he is a natural leader in and out of the classroom,” said Principal Chris Schwartz. “Bryson takes ownership of his learning and goes above and beyond on all assignments. He serves as the sound technician for our music director and mentors younger students at the school. Bryson is known by all of his classmates as a kind and scholarly gentleman. His character and leadership skills, along with his work ethic, are what make him an Academic All-Star.”

Bryson isn’t joking when he says school is one of his favorite things, and he says the people at Trinity are a big reason why.

“The thing that makes this school so special is the kindness that everybody gives,” said Bryson. “The teachers show their students this love, and every teacher has one little thing that can make you so happy at the end of the day and take all those doubts away.”

Bryson has trouble picking a favorite subject because he enjoys them all so much. When he’s not at school, Bryson likes to read.

“I think it’s fun to read because you can make up your own world with the words in a book,” said Bryson. “I just finished The Hunger Games a few days ago, and I thought that was a pretty powerful series.”

After college, Bryson says he’d like to become an astronomer because he loves learning about outer space. In the meantime, he’ll continue doing all of the things that got him where he is today.

“The reason I want to do well in school is because I want to use my education to further myself,” said Bryson. “Plus, I just like to learn.”
