Academic All-Star – Hillsboro School (Middle)

Published May 13, 2016

The Academic All-Star award is given to students who exhibit a positive attitude and a commitment to excellence in the classroom. Each Academic All-Star is chosen by his or her principal and receives a framed certificate, coupons to Sonic Drive-In and a free gift courtesy of Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More in Franklin.

Twelve-year-old Madison Shreve is the kind of student who always gives 100 percent. Her work ethic and dedication to school has left a huge impression on her teachers, which is why they selected her as Hillsboro School’s Academic All-Star for grades 6-8.

“Madison is always prepared for class,” said Hillsboro teacher Kara Clark. “She is positive, energetic and engaged. I love seeing her smiling face in class and in the hallway. Madison puts her all into everything she does, and I believe she is an Academic All-Star.”

Madison began attending Hillsboro in sixth grade and says both the teachers and students are helpful and friendly. Outside of school, she enjoys playing outside and reading a good book. Madison says when she grows up she might like to be an entrepreneur and start her own business.

In the meantime, Madison says she’ll keep working hard and trying her best.

“I like to challenge myself and push myself to get good grades,” said Madison. “Winning this award is a really big surprise. It’s just a great feeling.”
