Writers’ Conference Donates Books to Middle School

An annual writers’ conference with an ominous name recently donated two dozen books to the Heritage Middle School Library.
Killer Nashville Founder Clay Stafford traveled to Thompson’s Station February 12 to hand-deliver the books to HMS Principal Dr. Marlena Gross-Taylor and Librarian Amanda Eubanks.
“One of our objectives at Killer Nashville is to connect authors with new readers,” said Stafford. “So we’re happy to be donating these books to Heritage Middle School and honored to be part of educating the kids here at HMS.”
Stafford founded the Killer Nashville Writers’ Conference in 2006 with the goal of having it become a leading advocate for writers and readers of all genres. The unusual name grew out of the conference’s connection to thriller, mystery and crime literature.
Gross-Taylor says the book donation is greatly appreciated and she’s excited to share these new titles with her students.
“I’m an avid reader,” said Gross-Taylor. “The library is my favorite place in the whole school so anything to help build our kids’ love of reading is wonderful.”
