WCS Students Make Impressive TCAP Gains
Published July 31, 2014
Once again, WCS has posted exceptional results on the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP) assessments from the 2013-2014 school year. Though there is always room for improvement, these scores are something of which teachers, staff, students, families and the community at-large can be proud.
“Our students and teachers hit another home run, and I am so proud of them,” said Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney. “For the fourth year in a row, Williamson County students have made significant progress.”
WCS is again showing gains in multiple areas, especially with student subgroups. All subgroups include Economic Disadvantaged (ED); Students with Disabilities (SWD); Limited English Proficient (LEP); and Black, Hispanic and Native American (BHN). The district’s composite for value-added growth is significantly higher than the standard. In addition, WCS outperformed the Tennessee All Students category in reading, math and science.
We will be celebrating and sharing more great news at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5.
