As part of the district’s effort to maintain a close working relationship with local business and community leaders, WCS Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney will be serving on the Board of Directors for the Williamson Chamber.
Looney joins 35 other members who’ve been given the task of taking an innovative approach to building a prosperous business community. He will serve on the board through 2017.
According to Matt Largen, President and CEO of Williamson, Inc., the economic success of Williamson County is directly tied to the success of Williamson County Schools.
“WCS has been the biggest driver of our success in the past and providing a great education for all kids of Williamson County will be the most important thing we do as a community moving forward,” said Largen. “A strong partnership between Williamson, Inc. and WCS is critical for developing the long-term pipeline of talent for the Nashville region. The closer we can connect WCS and the Williamson County business community, the more opportunities we can create for relevancy for all students in Williamson County.”
