Ravenwood Senior Selected as a Presidential Scholar

Published May 5, 2015

Williamson County Schools students continue to be recognized nationally for their accomplishments both in and out of the classroom.

Ravenwood High School senior Gene Li is the latest to earn national acclaim after he was named a U.S. Presidential Scholar.

Of the three million high school students expected to graduate this year, Gene is one of only 141 nationwide who will receive this prestigious honor.

The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars selects honored scholars based on their academic success, artistic excellence, essays, school evaluations and transcripts, as well as evidence of community service, leadership and demonstrated commitment to high ideals.

The 2015 Scholars are comprised of one male and one female from each state, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, and from U.S. families living abroad, as well as 15 chosen at-large and 20 U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts.

On June 21, the class of 2015 will be honored with a Presidential Scholar Medallion at a ceremony held in Washington, D.C.
