New Changes to Phone Notification System

Published July 29, 2014

Parents will notice some subtle changes to the district’s phone notification system beginning August 1. In an effort to better serve parents, students and staff, Williamson County Schools changed providers over the summer. The first call-out using the new system will be made Friday, August 1.

When calls are made using the notification system, please note the following:

  • When the Central Office makes a call using the automated notification system, the caller ID will display a district phone number (615-472-5800). If a school places a call using the phone notification system, that school’s main phone number will display in the caller ID.
  • In most cases, emergency notification calls will come from the district office.
  • If a parent misses a phone call, please listen to the voicemail or answering machine for messages and read the accompanying email. The emails may have a different look than in year’s past.

To ensure that you are notified if there is an emergency at your child’s school, the district needs current and accurate mailing addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of the primary contact person. Please be sure to update this information on a yearly basis by making sure your child’s school has the correct contact information. Also, if you move or change phone numbers, please notify the school’s attendance secretary and provide accurate contact information immediately.
