Indoor Air Quality Training at Edmondson Elementary
Published March 27, 2015
Dr. Gregg Boothe of EHS Services provided Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) training to the staff at Edmondson Elementary School, including several WCS Maintenance Department personnel on Wednesday, March 25.
Dr. Boothe is an IAQ investigator and researcher who has provided numerous testing and evaluation services to WCS over the past 10 years.
His presentation at Edmondson Elementary School focused on identification of moisture issues that could aid in fungi growth, i.e. mold. His talk emphasized that the most important and effective tool in preventing mold growth in a facility is visual inspections followed by appropriate remedial actions as dictated by the conditions observed.
Edmondson Elementary School and WCS Maintenance staff use the EPA’s Tools 4 Schools IAQ inspection checklists to help them focus on early identification of moisture issues.
