Donation from Williamson Medical Center

Published October 10, 2014

Williamson Medical Center (WMC) has made a generous donation of physical therapy equipment to Williamson County Schools that will help students, faculty and staff stay a bit healthier.

“We have a great relationship with the schools and already do so much with them,” said WMC Chief Operating Officer Julie Miller. “They were automatically our first choice of where to donate this equipment.”

What equipment is being donated you ask? Among the items donated were an elliptical trainer, small rebounder trampoline, weights, treatment tables, therapeutic whirlpools and an Aerodyne stationary bicycle.

“This shows how intricately woven the relationship is between the classroom and our partners in the community like Williamson Medical Center,” said WCS Community Development Director Deb Enright. “Equipment like this is the type of thing we don’t necessarily have room for in our budget. The children of this community are going to see firsthand that their place of care cares enough to help them and that is fantastic.”

WCS Health Services Coordinator Cynthia Boykin offered some insight on plans for the equipment.

“We’re thrilled to be able to pass these items along to our athletic department, physical therapists who work with the special needs population and one special school that is going to benefit from a staff and student fitness room,” said Boykin. “So many schools are going to benefit from this. It’s really going to be spread around the community and we couldn’t be happier about the relationship we have with Williamson Medical Center.”
