Regina Moore is the founder and director of Moore Casting, a casting agency located in Nashville. Moore began her career in the entertainment industry as a model and actor while attending Fairview High School. She began working as a casting director in 1989 and founded Moore Casting in 2001.
As a casting director, what are some of your job responsibilities at Moore Casting?
It is my responsibility to search for talent (actors, models, dancers, voice-over talent, etc.) requested by production companies, networks, whoever requires talent for live performance, film, television, commercials, industrials, web content, print and more.
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
The process of searching and finding the perfect talent to fit each project.
What did you enjoy most about your high school experience?
I was very involved in sports, drama, newspaper staff, and organizations that supported the overall growth of our student body.
What WCS teacher made a difference in your life and how?
My sixth grade teacher, Mr. Pate. He instilled confidence I did not possess at that time. Mr. Richard Huckabee was a real support in encouraging me to pursue my talents and Mr. Robinson, my history teacher and basketball coach, taught me to explore past what I felt I was capable of doing. Those teachers taught me to never settle for what seems to be all I could achieve comfortably, work harder to do what no one expected.
Do you have any advice for current WCS students?
Have goals. No matter how small or large. Make a list of things that are reasonably attainable and then when you mark them off your list you experience the feeling of accomplishment. Then write down goals that are hard but with work are possible. Work toward those and then when you mark through just one of those you are on your way. We only fail if we never tried.
